Diamonds not quite cut by Blades
The match started with Diamonds gaining the majority of the possession and applying pressure for the opening 15 minutes. Around 20 minutes into the game Diamonds opened the scoring with a break down their left. This brought Blades to life and into a game, they got into tackles more and started to threaten themselves. End of the first half was well balanced with Blades poised for an improved second half. Blades delivered a stronger performance after the break and looked the hungrier of the 2 sides. Blades' 5-man midfield now controlled the game with Nico Parfitt and Kris Anderson creating and Ollie Gatward protecting a resilient back three. On many occassions Nico got the ball at his feet and it seemed to be stuck there as Diamonds could not get it off him. Space was being utalized on both wings as Blades looked to get in behind their opposition and from the right a cross met Jake Williams 6-yards out but his effort went narrowly over. With 5 minutes to go Blades again found space on the right, the cross was met by Ryan Goodman who finished well, unfortunately the play was brought back for a previous offside offence. With just 2 minutes to go Blades got their reward, a free-kick wasn't cleared by Diamonds and Ryan made no mistake to get a well earned point for Blades. Man of the Match Nico Parfitt.
